Description
Join us for a Truffle hunting experience at Cartwright Truffiere nestled in the beautiful southern Willamette Valley, on Dec 12th, 2021.
This event starts at 9:30 am
We ask guests to arrive 15 minutes prior to starting.
9:30 am- Meet on the farmhouse deck for light refreshments (coffee, tea, mimosa, orange juice etc.) and a discussion on the history of truffle production in Oregon as well as an introduction to the farm.
9:45-10 am--The exciting part. Let’s go hunting! You and the rest of the band of adventurers will team up with our four-legged associates and head out into the truffière. What will we find? What do they feel like? Do they have different aromas? So many quetsions and the dogs are here, ready to answer them.
You will have a ring-side position watching our dog teams operate in partnership to locate ripe truffle. And when they do, you will have a hands-on opportunity to smell truffles in the soil and perhaps even dig them out for yourself. Please wear clothes that can stand a bit of mud for that reason! This is a farm afterall!
11-11:15am (depending on truffle): The next exciting part. Back to the farmhouse where one of our incredible local wineries will be providing a paired wine tasting along with a homestyle truffle lunch, put together at the whimsy of our guest chef. While enjoying your lunch plenty of tips and tricks to using truffle will be shared. Any truffles that are available will be available for purchase at a special rate not normally offered to retail customers. Noon on: Depart, swag in hand, ready to explore what the Southern Willamette has to offer.
About the Truffiere
Cartwright Truffiere, nestled in the Willamette Valley, is one of the most productive truffle Orchards in the US, ranked #1 or #2 by volume for Perigord truffle (Tuber melanosporum). Cartwright Truffiere is not open to the public so this is a very rare and special occasion we are excited to share with you, our students, and alumni!

Accommodations
Accommodations are not included in this experience, however, we do have recommendations and a special relationship (depending on the time of year) with a local BnB that happens to also have a white truffle forest behind their property!
