Truffle Orchard Experience at Cartwright Truffière

Presented by: Truffle Dog Co & Willamette Valley Truffles

Join us for an Exclusive Truffle Orchard Tour and Tasting experience at one of the few productive truffle orchards in the United States, and then samples delicious bites with truffles from the farm prepared by local Chef Andrew Hroza the Executive Chef at Ninkasi’s Living Room and recently voted “best local chef” in the Eugene Weekly!

During this experience, you’ll get the feel of life on a Truffiere- that’s what we call a truffle orchard and the magic of truffles right from the ground!

You’ll interact with the truffle dogs at the farmhouse, trek through the Oak and Hazelnut truffle grove, and follow the dogs as they wind their way among the truffle trees searching for the elusive fungi. We’ll share with you the history of the farm and cultivation as the dogs search the wet ground for the truffles, and when they find one, you’ll have the opportunity to sniff the soil for the mouthwatering smell of the unearthed truffle- a rare treat, before heading back to the farmhouse to enjoy some truffle tastes, bites, and bubbles from excellent local Oregon wineries. Please leave your dogs at home or in the cars, as they are not allowed on the truffle orchard during this event.

This experience is available for up to 12 and if you are one of our Truffle Dog Co Alumni or Current Advanced Student you can combine this experience with the Truffle Dog Hunting Experience on Sunday, Dec. 18th

***If this experience says SOLD OUT Please contact us directly to be added to the waitlist for this or other opportunities upcoming such as our January & February Tasting Dates and Cooking Experiences at the Truffière.

Description

Join us for a Truffle Experience at Cartwright Truffière nestled in the beautiful southern Willamette Valley, on Saturday, Dec. 17th, 2022.

This event starts at 9:30 am.

We ask guests to arrive 15 minutes prior to starting.

9:30 am- Meet on the farmhouse deck for light refreshments (coffee, tea, mimosa, orange juice etc.) and a discussion on the history of truffle production in Oregon as well as an introduction to the farm.

9:45-10 am--The exciting part. Let’s go hunting! You and the rest of the band of adventurers will team up with our four-legged associates and head out into the truffière. What will we find? What do they feel like? Do they have different aromas? So many questions and the dogs are here, ready to answer them!

You will have a ring-side position watching the dogs locate ripe truffles….and when they do, you will have a hands-on opportunity to smell truffles in the soil and perhaps even dig them out for yourself! Please wear clothes that can stand a bit of mud for that reason– this is a farm after all.

11-11:15 am — Back to the farmhouse where we’ll sip on one of the incredible creations from local Willamette wineries while tasting truffle bites prepared by local Chef Andrew Hroza, the Executive Chef at Ninkasi’s Living Room and recently voted “best local chef” in the Eugene Weekly! While enjoying your sips and bites you’ll learn plenty of tips and tricks to using truffles in just about any dish! Any truffles that are available will be available for purchase at a special rate.

Noon-1pm– Depart, swag in hand, ready to explore what the Southern Willamette has to offer!
