Truffle Orchard Experience at Cartwright Truffière

Presented by: Truffle Dog Co & Willamette Valley Truffles

Join us for an Exclusive Truffle Orchard Tour and Tasting experience at one of the few productive truffle orchards in the United States, and then head into the kitchen to watch a cooking demo and sample a spectacular seasonal truffle menu prepared by local Chef Andrew Hroza the Executive Chef at Ninkasi’s Living Room and wine pairings with Oregon Wine Lab and local pinot by William Rose Wines.

During this experience, you’ll get the feel of life on a Truffiere- that’s what we call a truffle orchard and the magic of truffles right from the ground, and all the magic that is the Willamette Valley.

You’ll interact with the truffle dogs at the farmhouse, trek through the Oak and Hazelnut truffle grove, and follow the dogs among the truffle trees searching for the elusive fungi. We’ll share with you the history of the farm and cultivation, and when the dogs find a truffle you’ll have the opportunity to sniff the soil for the mouthwatering smell of the unearthed truffle- a rare treat, before heading back to the farmhouse to enjoy a demonstration with Chef Andrew of one dishes you’ll be enjoying that evening. After the demonstration, relax into the farmhouse atmosphere and enjoy the spectacular seasonal menu crafted by Chef Andrew in combination with wine pairings from the Oregon Wine Lab and William Rose Wines.

*Please leave your dogs at home or in the cars, as they are not allowed on the truffle orchard during this event. If you’re joining us for the Dog day on Sunday, we may have pet sitters available to help watch your pup at your residence/ airbnb

This experience is available for up to 14.

Description

Join us for a Truffle Experience at Cartwright Truffière nestled in the beautiful southern Willamette Valley, on Saturday, Jan. 21st, 2023.

This event starts at 1:30 pm.

We ask guests to arrive 15 minutes prior to starting.

1:30 pm- Meet on the farmhouse deck for light refreshments (coffee, tea, champagne, etc.) and a discussion on the history of truffle production in Oregon as well as an introduction to the farm.

2:45 pm--The exciting part. Let’s go hunting! You and the rest of the band of adventurers will adventure out with the four-legged associates into the truffière. What will we find? What do they feel like? Do they have different aromas? So many questions and the dogs are here, ready to answer them!

You will have a ring-side position watching the dogs locate ripe truffles….and when they do, you will have a hands-on opportunity to smell truffles in the soil and perhaps even dig them out for yourself! Please wear clothes that can stand a bit of mud for that reason– this is a farm after all.

3:45 pm — Back to the farmhouse where we’ll connect with Chef Andrew Hroza the Executive Chef at Ninkasi’s Living Room and recently voted “best local chef” by the Eugene Weekly! Chef Andrew will walk guests through a hands-on approach to creating one of the dishes you’ll be dining on, his famous Country truffle pate, and various accouterments before sitting down to enjoy a casual but delicious supper pairing wines from local William Rose Wines and the Oregon Wine Lab with your seasonal truffle themed menu.

You’ll learn all about harvesting and cleaning truffles, grading truffles, and you’ll learn plenty of tips and tricks for using truffles in just about any dish you want to make at home! Any truffles that are available from the hunt will be available for purchase at a special rate.

7-7:30– Depart, swag in hand, ready to relax and enjoy your night off, dreaming of truffles.
