Does anyone have a boot recommendation? I’d like to get Cricket something that gives her a bit of protection from the cold and salt but that is thin enough that she can still feel the ground under her feet – I have no idea if such a thing exists. It is COLD here today (-16C) and while we are not out for long stretches when it is this cold, there is still a lot of winter to go.
We tried ruffwear boots with our other dog, but the soles are just too thick, I’m pretty sure dogs are meant to feel the ground beneath their feet (I bet humans are too).
Thanks!
For non Medical use we have used the Muttlucks
Also had many an outdoorsman/ Canadian/Alaskan dog friend recommend …. I’ll have to look it up when I’m home- the name is escaping me. It is similar to “tuff-foot” but not that I don’t believe. It is what a lot of Iditarod, working arctic dogs use on their feet to prevent soreness/ protect from elements, in addition to booties… It is a liquid you apply occasionally. I use it on our dogs in the winter often. Horse People use it too. I’ll look it up when home.
