Hi Rachel.

You most certainly do not need to train every day, and we recommend taking breaks as you describe. Every other day, or even longer gaps. You want to keep it fun!

I would say it depends on what you are working on, and how much time you have realistically to set up scenarios. Every other day is great, or two in a row and then off, etc.

2 sessions spaced apart half an hour or longer is just fine- or even longer. What we don’t want to have you do at this stage is be working the same dog for hour. That is exhausting and too much. You can and will build to that for when you are out in the field, but right now, that is a lot and we want to keep the value HIGH!

If you have time and want to do a simple one off search in a day you are supposed to be ‘off’ that’s okay too. But breaks are great and we encourage not necessarily training every day unless you have a reason to do so.
