How Truffle Dog Co. is Dealing with COVID-19
Hello fellow Truffle Hunters and Truffle Adventurers.
Your well-being and that of your furry counterparts is our foremost concern, and always top of mind here at Truffle Dog HQ.
By the nature of our events, workshops, adventures, and training classes, our gatherings are always small and intimate, and almost always outside, but we have added extra precautions to put your mind at ease.
For our Group Classes, we have reduced the number students per class, even further, to limit interaction between people and to maintain safe distances and protocols at all times.
We already have a strong and structured cleaning regimen in place, and again, the majority of our classes are held outdoors, with the exception being Foundations Classes which will be held partially outdoors and in a space with large open garage or barn doors to the outside for airflow.
There are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 on our team or with clients who have taken our classes or lessons, however, to ensure that we are prepared for all situations we put certain procedures in place:
Team Members and clients who are not ill and don’t have symptoms but have had close contact with a person diagnosed with COVID-19 will be asked to go home immediately. If there is a lab-confirmed case of COVID-19 in Team Member or client who has been in attendance at a TDC event, workshop or training, our staff and clients will be informed and Truffle Dog Co will follow the recommendation of Public Health Seattle and King County to determine the length of closure and next steps to be take to limit the spread.

All of our Team members maintain social distancing and to follow the CDC instructions to minimize the transmission of coronavirus among people https://cox.house.gov/coronavirus as well as between people and animals https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/faq.html/#animals

Face coverings are required at all times during events, training, and for adventures, when in close quarters, but not when tasting truffle tastes and bites.
This is a State of Washington Health Requirement.
If you are unable to wear a mask for medical reasons, please contact us prior to purchasing a class or adventure and we can work with you individually on what options may be available to you at this time.
For the safety of everyone involved, a 6 ft distance will be required at all times between teams when possible and in passing in group classes. This is the situation anyway at our group classes, as there is no dog-dog interaction allowed.
For Group classes, only 1 handler will be allowed per canine participant. If you have other members of your household whom you would like to attend, we can arrange a private lesson for you.
If you violate safety protocols repeatedly, you will be asked to remove yourself from class and to not return until you can remain appropriately safe.
If you have been at all symptomatic for Covid-19 or been in close contact with someone diagnosed or suspected with Covid-19, we please ask that you please notified us immediately and refrain from coming into classes or events.
In the unlikely event of a tighter travel restrictions or lock-down, such as experienced in March and April of 2020 in Washington, all of our Foundations I and Foundations II classes will move to an online format via ZOOM. You will maintain your same class date & time, but it will be held remotely. Your instructor will walk you through the process. Intermediate and Advanced classes will be rescheduled at such a time as it is safe to do so either in a group class format, as originally intended, or as a series of pro-rate Private lessons to account for class time already experienced.
Any of our Adventures that are affected by a lockdown will be rolled over until such a time as it is safe to conduct them.
